June 25, 2015:
Revised to include the “Outside SDC” section of the article.
A great article from the Valley of the Moon Magazine describes the Sonoma Developmental Center by capturing the struggles the Center continues to face and the obvious fact that change will happen in the near future.
Because of the wealth of diverse habitats, maybe change to the build area at SDC should have a different footprint in order to protect the wildlife corridor and groundwater recharge as described within the “Outside SDC” section of the article on page 3.
“400 SEVERELY DISABLED HUMAN BEINGS,
1,300 JOBS, 945 ACRES OF PRICELESS OPEN SPACE.
WHAT WILL THE FUTURE HOLD?”
Please take a few minutes to read this insightful article below.

There was no article at the link in this page. I scrolled all the way through the page that came up and could find nothing. It would also be nice if you warned readers that one goes to Facebook. I usually am unable to find anything I want on Facebook.

Hi Cathleen,
I apologize that I didn’t warn readers that the Valley of the Moon Magazine website links to Facebook, but in the future I will make sure to do so and let all know that by scrolling over a link, the bar at the bottom of your web page will let you know what the website is before you select the link. As for the article, if you scroll down to the bottom of the post you will see Inside Outside SDC and this is where the pdf link is located.
Please let me know if you have any problems in the future as I am here and happy to help, ensuring that everyone can access the information posted.
Thank you,
transformsdc, Sonoma Land Trust
